I don’t operate on everyone who walks through the door. If I think surgery won’t give you what you are looking for, I tell you so and suggest something else, or nothing. I would rather lose an operation than operate on someone who shouldn’t have surgery.

When do I say no?
When expectations are unrealistic, when I believe that what I am being asked for cannot or should not be attempted, and when there is a risk to your health. Sometimes the answer is an operation, sometimes it is a different treatment from the one you had in mind, and sometimes it is not to have surgery at all.
Saying so is part of the consultation. You leave with my opinion, even when it is not the one you expected.
What do I specialise in?
The centre of my practice is surgery of the face: the nose, with ultrasonic rhinoplasty, and the face, with the deep plane facelift. In both I aim for the same thing: a result that looks natural and that you feel is your own, without losing function. A nose has to breathe well as well as look good. Facial surgery is often combined with eyelid, ear and chin surgery.
I also perform breast and body surgery, the foundations of aesthetic plastic surgery.
What training and experience do I have?
I am a specialist in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. I trained in Italy, at the universities of Catania and Messina, and I hold an International Doctorate from the University of Navarra. I have practised in university hospitals in Italy, the United Kingdom and Spain, where I have worked since 2010, and I am certified to practise the specialty in Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.

I am a member of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE), ISAPS and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), as well as SVNRA, the Interactive Plastic Surgery Network (IPSN) and AECEP. My medical registration number is 283107803, with the Madrid College of Physicians.

Why do other surgeons come to watch me operate?
Because I also teach. Surgeons from several countries come to Madrid to watch me operate live at the Intensive Live Surgery Course in rhinoplasty, which I teach at Hospital HLA Universitario Moncloa and which held its 7th edition in October 2024. In 2018 I broadcast a breast microsurgery live to 4,000 surgeons. And in 2021 I founded the Interactive Aesthetic Fellowship, a programme in which young surgeons from all over the world come to train.

Other questions before choosing a surgeon
How can I check that a surgeon is a specialist?
Ask for their specialist qualification in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery and their medical registration number. Mine is 283107803 and I am a member of SECPRE. Why it matters is explained in my article on the new Spanish “Ley Sara”.
Will you be the one operating on me?
Yes. I see you at the consultation, I operate on you and I carry out the check-ups myself.
What happens if the result is not what I expected?
We look at it together at the check-ups. If something can be improved with a touch-up, I suggest it and explain the conditions. The possibility of a touch-up always exists in aesthetic surgery, and it should be discussed without drama.
