No. You are under general anaesthesia throughout, so you feel absolutely nothing. The post-operative period is also far more manageable than most people expect: no bone fracture trauma, and no nasal packing — which makes an enormous difference to day-to-day comfort.
When will I see the final results?
At 7 days, when I remove the splint, you will already see a clear change. But your nose will keep evolving — the residual swelling gradually fades week by week, and the final result is typically reached between 6 and 12 months. Most of my patients are very happy long before that point.
Does it leave visible scars?
I make a very small incision at the base of the nose, in the strip of skin between the two nostrils. I design it carefully to be as discreet as possible — and with the aftercare guidance I provide, it becomes virtually invisible within a few weeks. In my experience, it is not something that concerns my patients once they see it.
