The buttocks are one of the most appreciated body areas by both women and men across de world and cultures and everyone wants a high, round and full behind. Diet and exercise will reduce fat in the buttocks but it may not give the size and shape desired.

For many years, the most common option to enhance the buttocks involved inserting silicone implants beneath the gluteal muscle. However, this option is losing popularity in favour of a more natural technique: the fat grafting. The Brazilian butt lift has become the most popular surgery in the world for buttock augmentation and reshaping as it is safe, effective and poses minimal risk.

The Brazilian Butt lift, is a surgery that uses a person´s own fat to create round, prominent and perky buttocks. In this procedure, fat is selectively removed from certain areas of the body, then is purified before being transferred to the buttocks. With a Brazilian Butt Lift you can achieve a round and curvy butt with a natural look and feel. It can be combined with other elective procedures such as threads to achieve a higher and tighter lift. The procedure is almost scarless and can also correct the “orange skin” irregularities at once.

Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure

Before deciding to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, you should discuss every aspect in detail with the plastic surgeon and tell what results you would like to achieve. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Marco Romeo to discuss and decide if this is the right procedure for you. Good candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift are in good general health with a sufficient amount of fat in other areas of the body to harvest for transfer to their buttocks. The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia and deep sedation and there are not visible scars.

Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery

Following a Brazilian Butt Surgery, most patients can return to work and daily activities after one week. You can expect to require 30 days off intense activity including exercise.  Compression recovery garment must be used for at least 30 days to minimise swelling and promote skin retraction. Lymphatic massages are recommended to speed up the healing process but must only be done once your plastic surgeon recommends doing so. Fat survival and resorption can be assessed only 3 to 6 months later.
