Otoplasty scar before and after: asymmetric protruding ears, 34-year-old man

Otoplasty - Case # 22431

A 34-year-old patient with both ears protruding, one more than the other. I performed an otoplasty under local anaesthesia in one hour, correcting each ear with a different tension to even out the distance to the head. He was back to his routine within a week. The photo was taken at 4 months, from behind: the ears now sit close and symmetrical, and the scar, hidden in the crease behind the ear, cannot be seen. More about this surgery on the otoplasty page.

  • Time between photos: 4 months
  • Techniques /Scars: reformation of the cartilage to position the ears closer to the head. Surgery was performed to correct different levels of deformity on each ear.  Incision behind the ear
  • Surgery performed under local anesthesia and took 1 hour

Before & After photos were disclosed with the patient’s authorization for demonstration purposes. Surgery results depend on the personal characteristics before surgery.
