Otoplasty - Case # MSG24
Before & After pictures from a 24-year-old female patient who wanted to restore a more natural ear position (closer to the head).
- After photos taken: 3 months post-op.
- Techniques /Scars: a small incision was made behind the ear to sculp and bend the ear into its new position. Internal stitches are performed to hold the hear in the new position. Scars are hidden in the natural crease behind the ear.
- Surgery performed under local anesthesia and took 45 minutes.
- Recovery period: 1 week.

Children´s ears are most often fully developed until the age of 4 so Otoplasty is mostly performed between the age of 4 and 14 to avoid psychological trauma. However, Otoplasty can also be performed in adults.
